Revenge "Confidence"

Revenge S2 E3 10/14/12: Not much stands out on last night's episode of Revenge. All these reporters were hounding the Grayson's and then they held a press conference. Charlotte though stormed in on an interview Victoria was having with a reporter and said that David Clark was her father so Victoria promptly ended the interview. Did anyone else notice the awful fake backdrop for the interview? They were out on the balcony that's off of the master bedroom having the interview, which to me seems really weird - in a house that size, there has to be other balconies, right? Why would they use the one that you can only get to via the master bedroom?  Oh well, I guess all of that is beside the point. So, then at the press conference, Victoria said that David Clark was Charlotte's father and then they presented a big, happy, united family front that included Amanda Clark.  I'm not really sure what's going on though, except supposedly Victoria and Mr. Grayson are getting married again?  I don't know what the point of that is and who's good and who's bad anymore. There's so many stories going on, that I have trouble keeping up.  Sorry!

The British guy is Aidan and the preview was so misleading, because they USED to be together, but not anymore. So, it was a shot from a glimpse from the past. However, Aidan was on some search for his sister and in training with the real Amanda (Emily) under Takeda and they were a couple. But, he left her and so I think she's still bitter.

Then we find out that Emily's mom (Jennifer Jason Leigh) was in love with the grey haired prison guard man who killed David Clark. But, he's dead from when Aidan shot him when he was trying to kill Emily. Emily is still on the "find my mother" hunt.

Declan starts stealing jewelry with that kid, but dropped his driver's license so the homeowner came to find him, but Declan isn't turning in the other kid. Jack finds out about Declan's hobby and surprisingly  didn't really seem angry or anything...weird. However, Jack sees pregnant Amanda on the news with the Grayson's and then decides that he can't be with her. He says he'll do whatever for the child, but he doesn't trust her so their relationship is over. Remember Amanda doesn't even think Jack is the father, but he really is.

Oh, and the new CFO lady definitely is hot for Nolan, but thinks he's with Emily.

I think that's about it - just an okay episode. Did I leave out anything? Does anyone know what's going on with the Grayson's or have any ideas of where it's going?  -Courtney

Catching Up...

Okay, I have been totally slacking in keeping up with all these shows.  I decided to group them all together in one giant post so I can get a fresh clean start!

Private Practice S6 E1, E2 - I'm a little glad that Private Practice is back so I can continue eyeing Benjamin Bratt and emulating Addison's wardrobe.  Has anyone else noticed how put together she looks? even when she's just leisurely around the house??

Well, of course the show starts off with some drama of Pete passing away.  We all saw that one coming considering they announced he would not be returning back.  Glad to see Amelia back in high spirits and getting along with Addison.  I thought the way they wrote the season premiere was a little confusing...cutting back and forth between characters and not showing it in chronological order! The moment that most people were waiting for was who did Addison choose?.....drumroll....JAKE!!!  Thank goodness.  If she left a perfect guy like Jake through her fingers, I'm pretty sure I would've boycotted the show.  As my friend puts it, Jake is just so perfect that she constantly needs to remind herself that he is fiction.  As always, since Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice are so closely tied, they wrote in the Mark Sloane storyline (for more see the Grey's section below), which obviously upset Addison.  I mean, I was upset too and I wasn't even friends with him!  Finally, Addison came clean to Jake about the cheating and her relationship with Mark.  And of course, Jake being the perfect man he is didn't care about her past and actually apologized to her!!  Complete 180 on that!  The other storylines are okay...Charlotte's having triplets, Violet is trying to move, Sheldon refuses to get a biopsy from his PSA test, Sam has moved on with a nurse from the hospital, blah blah blah.  I only really care about Addison and Jake! BUT there's a new doctor in town...the previews show Matt Long (The Deep End) has been hired by St. Ambrose to fill Pete's old position. I don't know how long he plans on staying around, but I hope it's awhile...and I hope he loses the long hair.

Rumor has it that this may be the last season?  I sincerely hope so because Addison is not coming back if the show continues and it won't be the same...

Once Upon a Time S2 E1, E2 - Things look like they are semi-normal in Storybrooke where the people remember who they really are.  However, their happiness doesn't last long.  It is revealed that the purple cloud in the Season 1 finale was magic? but I'm still a little hazy on how that is possible.  There is an awkward reunion between Emma and Snow/Mary Margaret and town is furious at Regina, who seems to have sort of lost her power.  According to Rump, I guess magic is different in this world?  We see glimpses of the parallel universe of the Fairy Tale land where we meet the new characters of the season, Phillip (Sleeping Beauty's prince), Sleeping Beauty, and Mulan.  Apparently there were some people outside of the Snow White and Charming's realm that were not affected by Regina's curse?  Now they are refugees somewhere?  Somehow, Emma and Mary Margaret are transported to the Fairy Tale land, but they are confused as to where they are...I would imagine Mary Margaret being Snow White would remember, but again another ?.  I guess that sets the stage for Charming's crusade into reuniting his family, which I'm guessing will take the entire season.  Clearly you are reading a lot of ? in this blurb because honestly, things are just so confusing!  Sometimes I forget why I am still watching this show...oh right...I'm a loyalist.  Is anyone else still watching this show??

666 Park Avenue S1 E2 - This show just gets creepier and weirder and we don't seem to learn a lot more about the building.  It seems like Jane has some sort of connection to the Drake because her nightmares are so vivid or they actually are happening.  Gavin tried to test Henry's integrity and Henry passed with flying colors...would you expect anything less from Dave Annable?  It was almost as if Gavin was happy that Henry kept his integrity, does that mean Gavin is not really all that bad? and he is trying to save the people of the Drake? and his job as an enforcer of these desires vs death contracts is just a job?

Last Resort S1 E2 - The USS Colorado has still taken over the remote island of Sainte Marina and they are still considered enemies of the US.  This time, people who they think are Deltas try and attack them on the island, but it turns out to be the Russians coming to steal their submarine that is equipped with Stealth technology.  Obviously, the crew led by Sam triumphed with the help of the hot Navy SEAL and I think Grace is starting to have a higher respect for herself since she proved herself to the crew.

Things in DC are taking an interesting turn when Kylie asks her informant at the Pentagon or some Defense place to find the launch order that was originally sent to the Colorado.  Her informant then happens to be in a coma, but she was still able to get the launch order.  Now the mission is to figure out who sent it and where it came from.  Hopefully Grace's father, the Admiral, will be able to help.  Then there is a twist with Sam's wife and Sam's friend who seems like a two-faced lawyer.  What are they trying to convince Sam to do?  Turn Marcus in and believe that he will be set free?  I don't think anyone is that dumb...

Grey's Anatomy S9 E2 - We finally learn about what happened in the rescue and aftermath of the crash and it definitely filled in a lot of holes from last season and the premiere of this season.  I was quite curious about how Mark ended up in a coma when he seemed to be conscious after the crash, but we learn that he was in fact dying.  He had Richard set up his will and life support conditions, which was heartbreaking to see and by the time Avery came back with Sofia, Mark was already in a coma.  Do the writers of Grey's make it a mission to have their audiences cry in every single episode??

We learn that Christina is in a state of shock when she was rescued and didn't talk for days, but then got into her car to drive to the middle of nowhere for her new job.  I am just waiting for the episode where she returns to Seattle Grace and everything is back to normal.  She did bring up a good point about how Meredith should get the heck out of Seattle because all bad things happen there.  The ferry accident where she nearly drowned, her husband was shot, her mother died there...if I was her, I would've been on the next flight/bus out of Boston (seeing as she is not flying anymore).

Karev and Arizona hate each other because Arizona thinks Karev should have been on that plane, which she is right.  But I don't like seeing her angry all the time.  Kepner leaves since she no longer has a job, but we know she is returning.  Do you think Kepner and Avery will end up together?  I don't know how I would feel about that...Well, hopefully next episode won't be as much of a tearjerker!

Glee S4 E4 - This was an extremely depressing episode.  Originally, there were 3.5 couples remaining on Glee (the .5 being Rachel and Finn) and now there are ZERO.  Maybe just one, I can't tell if Emma and Will are donezo.  I'm happy to see Finn back on Glee, but it seems like he's not moving forward at all with his life.  He's back at McKinley helping out with the Glee club.  My interest in Glee has been waning.  I can't tell if it's because I don't relate to the new members or the songs are not that exciting anymore or what.  I think I've said this before, but there are just too many characters to keep up with on Glee.  Bring back the old ones and get rid the new ones!!

Hart of Dixie S2 E1, E2 - Well, Hart of Dixie is back and this was one show I was surprised got renewed, but low and behold and it starts exactly where it left off.  The day after the non-wedding of Lemon and George.  I thought this season would start of interesting with Zoe finally choosing one of the guys, but who am I kidding?  The network thrives on storylines like this to suck us in!  Unfortunately, she chooses herself in the end while still hooking up with Wade.  But then she gets mad when George tries to have a one night stand and Wade has to go see his ex.  I mean seriously?!  I think the better man for her is Wade...if only Wade could put his pride aside and show his true affections.  Who do you think she should choose?...

Gossip Girl S6 E1 - The final season of Gossip Girl naturally has to start off like the series premiere did...finding Serena.  The gang gets back together to search for Serena who was last seen heading out of town using public transportation while getting high.  Do not worry, all is not lost since it looks like she has turned her life around by meeting Steven (Barry Watson).  Odd choice of an actor to play Serena's love interest since he peaked on 7th Heaven 5 years ago!  Nevertheless, they are still together after learning the truth about Serena and both return back to Manhattan.  Chuck and Blair are still together, but not technically together because they want to accomplish everything they need to before being together...blah blah blah.  Their relationship is circular.  They go through the same phases every time...here's to hoping this time is different because they're older and more mature? HA!

Nate, Nate, Nate...still looking as pretty and preppy as ever.  I really admire his need to make something of himself and put in the hard work.  He is sort of the only one we ever seeing actually working.  I hope with his mission of trying to out the real Gossip Girl we see a lot more of him.  Side note, I actually watched him on Live with Kelly and Michael and he confirmed that we will find out the real identity of Gossip Girl...that makes the series more exciting!

Dan is still as annoying as last season.  I keep wondering to myself...what happened to his character?  I use to love Dan when the show first started, but now he's like a spineless poser of the Upper East side.  On top of that, he's scheming with Georgina, my LEAST favorite character ever.  I wonder what he's going to do with seeing Ivy and Rufus in bed together.  Btw, I had to fast forward through that seduction scene because it grossed me out!  Ivy with her scratchy voice and Rufus not thinking at all!  They now have 9 episodes left to get Lily and Rufus together.  Do we think it'll happen??

Parenthood "There's something I need to tell you..."

"There's something I need to tell you..." S4 E5 - They got me this week - I had a tear!  AND, I'm so bummed that it won't be on next week, although that's probably good because I'm so behind on all the crappy shows that I continue to torture myself with.  This week Kristina told the family about the cancer and of course everyone was wonderful. Hattie even showed up (I called that!) to surprise them.  Now we'll just have to see if she decides to stay or not.

Ryan (the vet) was a no-show on an interview and hadn't been hanging around the VA so Zeek went to check up on him. Ryan was rude, but later when Zeek and Camille were talking, Zeek was like "I'm so glad I had you to come home to" so he decided to not give up on Ryan.  He invited him to Victor's baseball game where he met the entire family including AMBER! I so didn't see that, but I like it!

At the game, the crappy coach wasn't playing Victor and it was the final inning (? not sure, I don't know much about baseball) so the whole family basically yelled at the coach and he was forced to put Victor in.  After 2 strikes, Victor hit the ball and made a home run!  I think Ryan and Joel will be the new coaches, but probably not - we'll see.

Julia missed some big deadline at work, which was apparently a really big deal. She missed Sydney's recital and had to leave Victor's game early. She was called in to talk to the partners and they were really rude to her and made it clear that she was no longer on the partner track, so she quit. Go Julia! Julia had a mini-panic attack earlier in the episode as well and her wonderful, amazing husband Joel was right there for her. We'll see how he takes the news about her quitting. I'm sure he'll respond perfectly - he always does! :) I love him and his hair is looking much better.

Hank kissed Sarah in the darkroom and after trying to pretend it didn't happen, he finally admitted that he thinks she's "funny, and pretty and nice." So sweet! Sarah then overreacts and tells Mark they should move in together. Ugh, get out here Mark! The previews though show Sarah talking to Adam about the kiss and it looks as though she's pondering whether or not she likes Hank. So, hopefully this is just the beginning and not the end.

90210 Returns

"The Sea Change" S5 E1 - So, the season premiere of 90210 was last night. I had forgotten how bad this show was. Dixon survived the car wreck (the only survivor) and was in intensive care. All he wanted was Adrianna, who had sworn Dixon off.  But, once she heard the news she rushed to his side. Dixon will live, we're just not sure of his condition. I'm betting he'll have some sort of paralysis and Adrianna will feel like she needs to stay with him.

Teddy agreed to having a baby with Silver - hopefully this means there will be more of him - I like him, which is a rarity on this show.

Naomi and Max were off to Vegas and got involved in some robberies/stolen car/etc. but ended up getting married and living happily ever after.  That is, unless Max's business partner has anything to do with it.

We did see Lori Laughlin reappear- wonder if the dad will make an appearance since the son is in the hospital.  You'd think, right? They wrote them off pretty badly.

Oh, and the psycho girl is back threatening Liam with $200k for some movie contract. But, an electrical fire started that Liam did attempt, although it was a small attempt, to put out so he's getting insurance money.  I'm sensing insurance fraud in a future episode.  -Courtney

Revenge "Resurrection"

"Resurrection" S2 E2 - During this week's episode of Revenge, Emily calls Daniel and informs him of the sketchiness of Charlotte's doctor. Daniel then acts upon this information and gets Charlotte out of rehab, but was too late since Mr. Grayson got the rights to Charlotte's inheritance, which to me looked like $668 million (or something along those lines...not too shabby).  Mr. Grayson and Ashley are definitely working together, so does Ashley really like Daniel? He doesn't appear to be too interested in her, but just last week Mr. Grayson was trying to lead Daniel astray from Ashley so I'm still a little confused about the dynamics of that triangle.  Oh well - maybe we'll find out more as the season progresses.

Let's see - lots happened. Charlotte went to Victoria and was like "yea, I'm free, but I'm poor" and Victoria was like "that's crazy, moving onto plan B, get out of here." So Victoria fakes it like she doesn't care about Charlotte (not sure if she was faking or not) and then calls Mr. Grayson. haha - she's alive! Then, Victoria has Mr. Grayson beat her up to make it look like the grey haired prison guard killer man was holding her hostage/beating her. So, Victoria is reunited with her family and everyone is happy. Just kidding! Wanted to see if you were paying attention!  We'll see what happens, but Victoria and Mr. Grayson are definitely still at odds. Mr. Grayson told Daniel that he used Charlotte's money to pay the ransom for Victoria, so now will Daniel trust his dad again?  However, Daniel gave all his money to Charlotte since hers was taken away so I guess Charlotte is the only rich one left? Does Mr. Grayson's company not have any money left?  Not sure about all that, but at the end of the episode we see Emily talking to the grey haired prison guard killer man and she has the tape that shows Victoria and Mr. Grayson plotting against him and she said she'll give it to him if he tells her about her mom. However, he turns on Emily and is trying to kill her, when Takeda's British side kick shoots him dead. The preview shows Emily and I believe it's this British guy kissing, but I'm not really sure how he fits in yet and what he has against the Grayson's.  The preview also shows Emily's mom (Jennifer Jason Leigh...not a huge fan of that casting. I really don't like her ever since Single White Female), so she's alive at some motel somewhere. We'll have to wait and see if that's a happy reunion or not.

This is so much information, but it's not all! Amanda gets the paternity test and goes to Emily so she'll fudge the results if needed. Amanda and Jack open the envelope and it is Jack's baby, so then Amanda calls Emily to confirm if that is indeed the truth, but Emily says it's not. We find out later that it really is Jack's baby and Emily lied to Amanda. So, we'll have to see if Amanda comes clean to Jack later on or not. Then, there's some weird side story going on with Declan and some kid coming to him and asking if he'll hold onto this diamond/sapphire bracelet in exchange for $500.  The kid then makes some remark about how there's more where that came from, so I'm thinking this kid is really some jewelry thief and of course Declan believes him that it's his dad's girlfriends or something. I'm thinking Declan will be getting arrested in a future episode.

Then, it actually showed Nolan working and some accountant lady is saying they are being audited and he needs to give up control and hire a CFO. Nolan doesn't like that idea, but the lady comes to the Hampton's from NYC and has all these potential candidates, so Nolan offers her the job instead. Potential love interest for Nolan? Because we don't know if he's 100% gay, right? He might be bisexual...not sure. Otherwise, I have no idea where this is going. I hope Nolan's company is legit and not sketchy.

Parenthood "The Talk"

"The Talk" S4 E3 - 2 weeks in a row of not crying! Go me! I did like this episode though and I am really, really liking Hank and Sarah and the previews for next week show them kissing! Yea! Thankfully Kristina wised up and moved the lumpectomy appointment back to the earlier time - what was she thinking? And, Kristina decided to let Max run for Student Council President although Adam and Max's teacher are against it.  I'm a little torn on this issue. I think it's important for kids to learn how to lose, but I also think it's important to protect their feelings, especially in Max's case. But, we'll just have to wait and see how it all goes. Poor Max though, he had to get 25 signatures in order to run for the position and Kristina saw the "signatures" and they were all mean things. So sad - kids are awful.

Speaking of awful, Jabbar went into the studio with Crosby and heard some words, including "nigga" so Crosby tried to explain, but went to Jasmine who wanted to talk to Jabbar more. Jasmine ended up giving a really awesome talk on the subject and Crosby was schooled and said he felt left out and got protective and sad that anyone would ever use that word to hurt someone.

Hank's daughter came in town and was all bummed because her friends were texting her about some party (why does a 10 year old have a cell phone, is that common?!), so Sarah says to make up that she was at a photo shoot with Justin Bieber so it later shows them doing some photo editing and Hank is now cool again. Sarah also came across some pictures in Hank's studio and we learn that he used to be some big traveling photographer, but he gave that up when his daughter was born. Sarah commented that her ex-husband said he'd give up the band business when his kids were born, but never did.

It's decided that Zeek needs a hobby since he's obsessing over the sprinklers, so he agrees to go to the VA. He's anti volunteering at first, but then meets Ryan (from Friday Night Lights looking super cute) and Zeek discovers that he has more to offer and wants to for real get involved.

Julia and Joel talk to Victor and tell him he needs to pick a sport or play the violin so he picks baseball and Joel is really excited because that was his sport. Victor isn't excited about it and it shows him at a game and he doesn't hit the ball when he's up to bat. He gets frustrated, throws the bat and storms off the field only to yell at Joel that he can't make him do anything because he's not his dad. Ouch! Joel gives a really good peptalk later about how proud he was of Victor for trying and he knows it's hard so Victor and Joel are later seen playing catch. Yea! Victor is a really cute kid and I can't even imagine how hard that entire situation has to be.

Next week we see Kristina telling the family about the cancer and it looks like Hattie makes an appearance again. Maybe she'll leave Cornell to come help care for the family while her mom is sick...yeah, that's my prediction. And, then of course, some developments with Sarah and Hank!!

Revolution "No Quarter"

"No Quarter" S1 E3 - Revolution seems to have slowed down a bit.  The flashbacks to the time right after the blackout are helpful because we learn how the Monroe militia formed.  It seemed like a good idea at the time and their hearts were in the right places, but I guess people get power hungry and greedy so can stop them.  We meet the rebel group/resistance that are fighting for the United States and they look kind of pitiful, but hopefully the underdogs win out in the end?  Aaron and Maggie find Grace's house, the woman from the first episode that took Danny in and who we saw communicating with someone via a computer!  They're too late though and someone has already come for Grace.  Aaron, being the techy nerd he is, realizes that Grace had built herself a computer.  They hang around the house for a bit and realize that the necklace/USB that Benjamin left Aaron is glowing and turns on the discman to play music as well as Maggie's phone so she can see pictures of her kids!

I'm not going to lie though, I'm starting to lose interest in the show.  They need to make greater strides in finding Danny or solving the mystery of the blackout!  I feel like the writers are scrambling to keep the audiences glued to the TV because apparently someone is not going to survive the next episode.  I mean...they're starting to kill off people already?  4 episodes into the season?  Seems a little extreme, but maybe it'll allow them to finally make some progress in their mission! -Cyn

Revenge is back!

"Destiny" S2 E1 - The season 2 premiere of Revenge was Sunday night and I was not disappointed!  It takes place a year later right around Memorial Day weekend (beginning of the summer in the Hampton's).  Victoria is "dead" and they are having an art auction in her honor. Daniel and the money grubbing girl, Ashley are together, but Mr. Grayson does not approve. I was a little surprised by this - I thought he liked Ashley because she seemed to have little to no ethical conflicts, but maybe he just likes that in business and not family? Not sure, oh well. Emily is on the hunt for more information about her mother and it shows a scene where she was trying to be on the verge of death under Takeda's watchful eye to regain some memories of her mom. Is that Takeda the same guy as last season? Her Japanese friend? Or is this a new Japanese friend? I'm a little confused there. And, who's the guy that's helping Takeda? Future romantic interest perhaps?

After looking at pictures, it's definitely a new actor. I hate when they do that - at least TRY and get someone who looks similar, or at least Emily should say "Hey Takeda, you shaved your head"

OK, enough about that, back to the plot. So, we see that Charlotte is in rehab and her counselor/doctor and Mr. Grayson are talking about her release. They agree that she can attend the art auction (since she missed her mother's memorial...that seems a little extreme, right?), but the doctor needs to attend in order to supervise. Mr. Grayson doesn't want to speak at the event so Ashley plans on speaking instead.   Emily and Nolan arrive at the event and you can see that Daniel is definitely not over Emily. After Ashley says a few words about Victoria, Charlotte decides she wants to say a few things as well. Immediately after this, the doctor gets a call that her blood work came back and she had drugs in her system so she gets hauled away.  Come to find out, the doctor is of course sketchy and being paid by Mr. Grayson. Mr. Grayson is trying to get Charlotte's trust money to save the company. Daniel it appears doesn't want to save the company with his trust money - is Daniel good after all?  But, before Charlotte leaves the party, she whispers to Emily and we find out later that she was pointing Emily to Victoria. Victoria is alive! I think we all saw that, but I"ll pretend to be surprised. Emily goes to Victoria and Victoria basically said that she's hiding out under a government program as they work to uncover evidence against Mr. Grayson. Emily of course is suspicious so Nolan goes to work on a spy camera and they later see that Victoria is working with the white haired prison guard man who killed Emily's father. Victoria directs him to basically kill Emily since she now knows too much. Emily doesn't appear frightened - I guess she almost killed this guy before so she figures she can do it again.

Jack and Amanda are still together, but you can see that Jack is miserable. Him and Emily are hot for one another, but pregnant Amanda messed everything up. There's a few weeks until the baby arrives, but Emily asks Jack if he's sure the baby is his. Thank goodness someone thought about this! It's all way too suspicious. And, supposedly Takeda was working with Amanda, so we'll have to see where all this is going. What does Takeda have against all these people? I think that's about it. What did you guys think about the premiere? I was personally a little worried, but I think there's enough material to last at least through this season.  Stay tuned! - Courtney

666 Park Avenue Series Premiere

"Pilot" S1 E1 - While Courtney is slaving away on the much anticipated Revenge post, I decided to share my thoughts on 666 Park Avenue, the new ABC show that is part horror and part soap-y.  As you all know, while prepping and researching for the Fall Season, 666 Park Avenue was #1 on my list of "Must Watch", but I must say that I'm a little ehhh about it...perhaps it was a little too horror-y for my taste.  It didn't excite me as much as Revenge's series premiere last year.  Throughout the episode, you learn that the people who live in the Drake are just plain creepy...who would ever want to live in a building like that?!?! even though the building is absolutely gorgeous.  I can't tell if Gavin Doran (Terry O'Quinn) is the devil or works for the devil or what, but is everyone in the building affected by the evilness?  Dave Annable is still as perfect as ever from his "Brothers and Sisters" days, but his series gf, Jane (Rachael Taylor) really annoys me.  I think she'll get sucked right into the world of luxury and parties, which will cause the perfect Henry (Dave Annable) to deal with the devil/Gavin Doran.  I think she's going to be his downfall throughout the series.  Also, the storyline with Robert Bucklet (another hottie) was absolutely random!  I wonder if his wife will survive?  Is he going to end up with the creepy girl across the street?

Overall, the guys in the show is making this show worth watching...so far.  I hope it picks up the drama/storylines soon! -Cyn

Thursday Premieres

Whoa! A ton of shows are on Thursdays so I decided to just group them all together.  I predict that Friday morning blogging will be the busiest.  Let's get started!

Last Resort S1 E1 "Captain" - The Pilot episode of Last Resort was pretty intense and I am actually really excited about this show.  First off, there's a lot of hot guys in it, which is a total plus (see below).  Second off, it seems like there will be different plots and angles being worked on at the same time and then they'll all converge in the end...like the movie Crash or even Valentine's Day (haha).

My predictions of the season are...I definitely think there will be some conflict going on with the crew and the people of the island.  I definitely think that by having an Admiral's daughter as part of the crew will be extremely helpful in pleading their case/finding the truth.  The SEALs that they rescued in the middle of the ocean (how cool was that?! I wonder if that happens in real life) definitely had something to do with all the drama that got the "Colorado" in trouble.  AND I think that hottie SEAL that was seen drinking alone in the bar will have a bigger role in the show (or at least I hope so!).  The thing that stuck out the most in the show is the ending when Captain Chaplin made that public statement saying that they were shot upon by their fellow Americans and that they are now going to be making the island theirs.  It just seemed like he wanted to go against DC and form his own safe haven and didn't try that hard to explain the Colorado's actions or make any attempt to go back home.  Maybe it was just me, but that was the vibe I was getting...thoughts?  -Cyn

Grey's Anatomy S9 E1 "Going, Going, Gone" - I have a feeling this will be an emotional season or at least an emotional start of the season.  I keep wondering when the last season will be since the show has reached its full potential, but yet I still continue to watch it.  Well, we all knew that Mark Sloane (Eric Dane) was leaving the show, but I didn't realize they were going to kill him off.  I thought he was going to leave Seattle and take a job somewhere else because the pain of losing Lexie would be too much to handle.  Clearly, I was wrong and of course the writers put on another show that made me cry...again.  I think Seattle Grace will be returned back to normal in the next few episodes with Karev staying and hopefully Cristina and Kepner returning.  There may be a transition to include storylines of the new interns, but I really hope not.  I find them extremely annoying and the less they show them the better!  I think next week will be another tear jerker with us learning about the aftermath of the crash.  -Cyn

Glee S4 E3 "Makeover" - It was a pleasant surprise to see SJP guest star as none other than an editor/writer? for Vogue.com.  That was probably the extent of my excitement for the episode.  My predictions of the love triangle were proven correct and FINN is finally back!!  I wonder which guy I like better though...I can't seem to decide.  On one hand, Brody is not bad looking and can dance, but we don't know him/his character that will and I have a feeling he's got an ulterior motive or something.  On the other hand, Finn is wholesome and genuine and truly loves Rachel, but he seems kind of small-townish for Rachel.  Maybe I'll be on a clear team by the next episode! -Cyn

Parenthood "Everything is Not Okay"

"Everything is Not Okay" S4 E2 - They didn't get me this time! I didn't cry this week! I also didn't think it was all that great of an episode, so maybe the 2 are correlated?  Anyways - so I was wrong. Kristina does have cancer, but it doesn't appear that she's contemplating a double mastectomy. Instead, she's been directed to get a lumpectomy, but from the previews it seems like she wants to wait.  WHAT? Is she crazy? I hope she doesn't wait...not sure I can handle that, especially since she's a mother with a very young baby. I know there are alternatives, but they aren't even saying chemo yet, so what's the problem? Ugh. Let's see, what else? Adam kind of confided in Amber since he's been rude to her at work. Hank ends up shooting a wedding and he's opening up to Sarah - more on that next week when she meets his daughter! There was like a 1 minute clip with Sarah and Mark, but that was enough. I don't like them together and I don't think it's because he's younger. I don't care about that unless it's creepy. And Zeek got pulled over and ended up going to the police station with a lot of the grandkids in the car. He has to renew his expired driver's license and all the kids got together and were worried he's not able/safe/etc. to drive, which is crazy - he's not even old (who knows what they would say if they saw my grandparents driving!). But, he passes with a 98%. Other than that, Max was obsessed with the vending machine being gone at school so he's decided to run for student council president to get it back. - Courtney

Revolution "Chained Heat"

"Chained Heat" S1 E1 - I'm not going to lie, but I'm surprised that I am still watching Revolution.  Yet again, I think the show is doing a great job keeping our interest by learning new twists...that are rather large...in each episode.  The one that that I will complain about is how annoying Charlie is!  Yes, I get that you think you're the reason why Danny has been taken hostage, but I mean come on!  Be a little ruthless if you're going to survive this post-apocalyptic environment you're in!  Which means...doing whatever is necessary to survive and get your family back - within reason of course.  I think she finally realized the kind of world that is out there so I think we will get less of the little miss innocent act.  Okay, FIRST big twist was this Randall guy who has the same necklace/USB that glows as the woman from the first episode!  It looked like she was communicating with someone and had plans/sketches scattered regarding a type of device or machine...I bet it's something to bring the power back on.  Unfortunately, she is no longer alive and there is another villain in town besides Monroe.  SECOND big twist was the fact that Danny and Charlie's mom is alive!  I couldn't tell if she's being held captive by Monroe, which I think she is...but I can't tell why she's still alive or what she's doing.  My theory is he is holding her captive and forcing her to figure out this whole blackout ordeal.  I think that Monroe was trying to get Benjamin to come and help his wife out, but I thought the mom didn't know anything and it was Benjamin that discovered it.  I'm sure there's more to come on this, but I definitely do NOT think they are working together.  I'm a little excited about next week...hope they start writing in some love interest storylines! -Cyn

Glee "Britney 2.0"

"Britney 2.0" S4 E2 - I don't know if you all are wondering this, but my biggest question is...where have Finn and Mercedes been and I suppose Mike Chang as well?!?!  I am still assuming that they are coming back on the show, but I have not even heard Mercedes mentioned at all!  I'm getting a little worried, since the new Glee members (e.g. Puckerman's brother and new girl) just aren't doing it for me.  The only thing that is making me want to stick around is all the A-list guest stars.  Kurt finally made it to NYC and it seems like things are turning around a little for Rachel.  I'm quite intrigued with this new guy from NYADA and I wonder if her heart still lies with Finn.  There are just too many characters now and I don't think the show is doing them justice in continuing to develop them.  Maybe it's too early on in the season since there has only been 2 episodes?  We've barely seen any interaction from Mr. Shue and what's going on with him and Emma?  How are Blaine and Kurt's relationship surviving long-distance?  McKinley High is certainly not as happenin' as it use to be.  Disappointment in the current Glee season as well? -Cyn

Parenthood "Left Field"

"Left Field" S4 E2 - They get me every time! I got teary eyed AGAIN! Do you think Kristina will really have cancer? I'm thinking she will, because based on the previews I think she's contemplating a mastectomy. The preview shows her looking at herself in the mirror and I think she's imagining surgery.  But, we'll have to watch to see! There was a lot of Kristina and Adam in this episode. AND, I'm super glad that it showed them at an animal adoption instead of the $1200 breeder. ADOPT and SPAY AND NEUTER!! Back to Parenthood - Hopefully in spite of the scare, they will still bring home a dog. I think it would be really good for Max and the family in general.

Julia is making headway with Victor. He totally wasn't sick, just scared, which I can't blame him. Poor kid has been through a lot. But, that was so sweet that Julia stayed outside school all day (didn't she have to go to the bathroom ever?) and it seemed like it was just what Victor needed.

I'm really starting to like Hank and think him and Sarah would be super cute. Not sure why she told him to stay away from Drew though, because he was nice and gave him good advice that it's "okay to be sad." Drew is such a cute kid, I'm sure he'll get a new girlfriend in no time.

After making fun of Kristina and Adam, in particular scheduling "funky time", Crosby and Jasmine get their schedules mixed up and forget to pick up Jabbar. So, schedule it is! I personally don't think there's anything wrong with a schedule. Life gets busy, you know?!

Well, I think that about sums it up - another good episode (as usual)! Sad I have to wait a whole week to watch another. What did you guys think? Like it?

I wonder if we'll ever see Hattie again? -Courtney

Revolution Series Premiere

Revolution S1 E1 "Pilot" - Revolution, one of the new Fall shows has started.  If you read our Fall Preview below, you'd know that this was a show that was in the middle of the pack and Courtney and I were a little iffy on.  Well, I tuned in for it and decided that I may continue for an episode or two.  At the start of the episode, it is a flashback of when the blackout occurred and you see that the father, Benjamin, knew it was coming and he was trying to download something really fast on a USB.  Fast forward to present day, 15 years later, and it looks like they live in Amish Country, which could be correct since there is no electricity whatsoever.  We learn that Benjamin's kids, Charlie and Danny, are all grown up, his wife has passed away after the blackout, staying in the city became too dangerous, several militia have formed that use force to control the people, and fear governs everyone.  The militia, also called Monroe's men, come to the village looking for Benjamin and his brother Miles.  They want to take them into custody to see Monroe because Monroe seems to know why the blackout occurred and even how to reverse it.  A fight ensues and Benjamin ends up getting killed while the militia take Danny as a hostage to bait Miles out.  Charlie hears the gunshots and races back to find her father uttering his last words to her to find his brother Miles in Chicago so he can help get Danny back.  Charlie, Aaron (Benjamin's friend who is also safekeeping the USB drive), and Maggie (doctor and Benjamin's gf) all set out for Chicago.  They run into some problems and another supposed wanderer, Nate, saves Charlies lives.  Once they arrive in Chicago and find Miles, they learn that Nate is actually apart of the militia and has called in support to capture Miles.  Miles is enraged that Charlie trusted him and led Nate right to him so he tells the group to leave him!  However, when the militia return to capture Miles, the gang comes back and they end up escaping.  Nate saves Charlie's life once again and kills one of his fellow militia members, so it lets you wonder, what side is he really on?!  While all this is going on Danny has managed to escape the militia men, but has an asthma attack and then wakes up in a room in some house.  The woman gives him an inhaler to use for his asthma, which he questioned at first since he had never seen one of those, and then she proceeds to let him stay since he poses no harm.  Shortly after, the militia men come and she gives up Danny, BUT we learn it is because she has something even more important to hide.  The camera shows her go upstairs into a thoroughly locked room and removes the USB that looks exactly like the one Benjamin has except this one glows.  Once the USB glows, the light bulb lights up, the computer turns on and she's connecting to somewhere where she is chatting with a person.  She tells the first that the militia men came, but they did not find it.  I'm assuming the "it" has something to do with the USB.  We also learn at the end of the episode that the big bad Monroe is actually Miles' friend from the Army!  They were together in the car driving back to base when Miles was on the phone with Benjamin telling him to get back to base immediately because it was happening soon...and then the blackout occurred.  Monroe probably overheard and assumes Miles knows something, which is why he's looking for him.

The episode definitely raised a lot of questions and many theories will soon be popping up, but I really appreciate the fact that the premiere didn't just set up the characters and what the show was going to be about, but it took it a step further and revealed a lot of key twists!...which is why I will be tuning in for at least another episode or two.  -Cyn

Glee Season Premiere

Glee S4 E1 "The New Rachel" - Start of the Fall season is underway! Glee is back and things are most certainly different at McKinley High.  A ton of new faces and I hope the old faces will be returning soon as well because it is just plain weird with the new people.  I really enjoyed Kate Hudson's role in playing the cruel dance teacher at NYADA and I am thoroughly impressed at how Glee can attract lots of A-list celebrities to guest star (i.e. Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and soon SJP).  For once, Glee is part of the popular clique after winning Nationals, but of course it doesn't last that long and the group of misfits are back to their usual spot...at the bottom of the high school food chain.  Of course, some of the remaining members are fighting for the "Rachel Berry" position on Glee so they have a sing-off of "Call Me Maybe"...wasn't that impressed and I think they could have made it a lot better.  There is a new member in Glee and I think a new addition will occur in the form of Puckerman's half-brother.  Rachel is struggling in NYC without her normal support system, but has an amazing performance of "New York State of Mind" in class.  She seems to have piqued the interest of a fellow NYADA student who isn't that bad on the eyes.  I wonder...is a love triangle in the mix?  Finally, Kurt joins her in NYC and hopefully things will be turning around for the both of them soon.  Overall, it was an alright episode to the start of the season.  I keep wondering how they plan on reuniting everyone...Finn, Santana, Puckerman, Quinn, Mercedes, Mike...I mean I assume they are coming back, right?  Because, Glee would most definitely not be the same without them! -Cyn

Ellen is back!

Yea! Ellen is back for season 10! I'm not going to regularly review this, but I just wanted to say how much I love her show. If I were a doctor, I'd prescribe her show...lonely? watch Ellen, sad? watch Ellen, need to laugh? watch Ellen, etc. In the words of Sophia Grace, "so good!". She had Pink and Patrick Dempsey on the premiere as well as the USA Gymnastics team. She also had "real" people - some guy that was part of a hate crime and the guy who heard about his story and fixed his car. So, Ellen kept saying the name of the auto shop in Roanoke, VA and they even filmed a commercial for it with appearances by Patrick Dempsey, Pink and the Gymnasts. Really cute, as usual. So happy Ellen is back!

On a different note, I watched the first 2 episodes of Katie Couric's new show, Katie. She had Sheryl Crowe and Jessica Simpson on her first show and then Aimee Copeland on her second. I live in Georgia so I was really interested to see the Aimee Copeland interview and it's amazing how strong this girl is. It's a little weird how optimistic/positive she is though...I mean I applaud her and am so proud of her, but still, she had an awful thing happen to her so I'd imagine that she has some tough moments. I think she kind of alluded to this, but enough about that - I'm not sure Katie has what it takes to host her own show. It's a little awkward to me.  Anyone else think that? Maybe it's just me.
- Courtney

Parenthood Season Premiere

Parenthood S4 E1 "Family Portrait" - I'm so happy Parenthood is back! I think it's one of the best shows out there and every week it makes me cry. On this week's episode, which is set 5 months after the season finale, the Braverman's are getting a family portrait made (hence the show's title) so Sarah goes to the photographer's shop to drop off the deposit check and here we meet Hank (Ray Romano). He's a grumpy guy, but has a Help Wanted sign in his window so after some lying by Sarah, she has the  job. She's then fired the next day at a photo-shoot because it becomes very apparent that she overstated her qualifications. More on this later... The Braverman's don't allow "non-family members" in the photo-shoot, but Mark goes and pleads his case so he's allowed. Oh, Sarah accepted the engagement - that was an unknown on the season finale. At the photo-shoot Hank sees Mark with Sarah and we then notice that he has feelings for her and is a potential romantic interest. I like Ray Romano and I think I'll like this storyline. As I said before, I'm not a fan of Mark and Sarah - I guess she goes from one extreme (Mark is supposedly 29) to the other (not sure how old "Hank" is supposed to be, but Ray is 54). We'll just have to wait and see where this goes, but she does get the job back under the condition that she learns about photography.

Amber works at the Luncheonette now and sleeps with one of the musicians. His girlfriend later shows up, so Amber is mad/upset and talks to Crosby, who then tells Adam. Adam then kicks the guys out and says he doesn't want those kind of people in their studio. Amber talked to Adam and said he has to see her as an employee and think about the studio and that she can take care of herself. I thought she was going back to work with the campaign guy, but I guess not - I like this better. My memory is a little fuzzy.

Over at Adam & Kristina's, Haddie is going to college (who's hair by the way looks much better this season along with Amber's), so her parents are having a week of activities for her, ending with the party/photo-shoot at Zeek and Camille's. Haddie is not exactly enthusiastic about the week, since it's more a week for her family than for her (although they have good intentions) and she just wants to do her stuff and hang out with her friends. After an argument with her parents, we're unsure if she is going to actually go to the party, but of course, she shows up, talks briefly with Victor about how they are crazy, but irreplaceable. We then see them at the airport (she just has one suitcase to go to college? hopefully they are shipping the rest) and Haddie comes back and gives them a big hug and they cry and I'm right there crying with them. Oh, also, Max was showing Victor his lizards and Guacamole went missing.

Joel & Julia talked to Victor about the lizard, but he said he didn't steal it. Come to find out, he did take it. Julia has been really easy on Victor (letting him eat and watch TV, etc.) since she's trying to show him that he's part of the family and they trust him, but Joel (I really like him, but not a fan of the new haircut) says in order for him to feel like family, they have to start treating him like family and not a guest. But, Julia says she's just waiting to fall in love with their son. Such a deep, truthful moment. You could see the pain in her eyes and the unasked question of whether they made a mistake. I can only imagine how hard this situation would be. I guess it's kind of like when you adopt a dog? No, it was love at first sight with both of them, oh who knows - back to the show...

Crosby & Jasmine & Jabbar are all doing well. Crosby sees Jabbar praying so they talk to Jasmine's mom and said they wanted to talk to them about God, religion, etc. but then they didn't know what it meant to them. Crosby talked to his parents about it and also Sarah, but he needed to figure it out on his own. Towards the end, Crosby and Jabbar are outside watching the stars and Crosby tells him that everything he has and his family, etc. makes him believe he's pretty blessed (something along those lines) so it was a sweet father/son moment.

I can't wait until next week! Does anyone else love this show or is it just me? I wish I had a big family and we all lived in one place - although I'm sure the idea is much better than the reality.  - Courtney

Summer Wrap-Up

With summer ending, yes unfortunately it has come, I guess it's time for a summer wrap-up to close out the summer season of shows.  BUT, don't get too sad since Fall shows are just around the corner!

Pretty Little Liars - Huge #betrAyal...I don't know who saw that one coming, but if you did...you should go into writing for shows.  In the summer finale, we learned that Nate is not really Maya's cousin, but her stalker from her old school and was the reason she left town and was hiding out at Noel's cabin.  Caleb is hanging onto dear life...I really hope he lives because he is by far my favorite.  Do you all think that Hanna and Wren are going to happen? or is Wren just a phase?  Will she end up with Caleb?  There's definitely going to be some drama with Ezra and Aria and I doubt they'll last for much longer.  The biggest twist of all....TOBY is working with Mona?!?! Is he a part of the 'A' team?  Personally, I think he's pretending to be bad, but really is good because of his true love for Spencer, but I could be just as delusional as Mona. -Cyn

Dallas - This show has SO many twists. It's hard to keep up, but we're going to do our best to make sure we have a good season 1 summary so we're ready for season 2!  In the Tommy/Rebecca scuffle, Tommy was the one who was shot (surprised? doubt it) and then Rebecca calls some people who come and take his body away. Bobby was in the hospital and before he woke up JR told him he loved him (ahhhh), but Bobby does wake up, he goes home and is fine. John Ross appears to have changed and rents an old Ewing Oil building for their new office space. That's where John Ross proposed to Elena (she said yes) and Christopher saw Elena wearing the ring and eventually said congratulations. But, they weren't engaged for long...the videos that Marta had that showed JR and John Ross's involvement in the whole South Fork fraud deal were found. So, Elena overhears John Ross saying he'll admit to the wrongdoing if it will help void Christoper's deal with Vicente. Poor John Ross, just as he was finally starting to get his act together...But, Vicente is arrested and the rest of them are granted immunity for their confessions.
Sue Ellen is going to get to run for governor after all. Ann saved the day and got a recording of her ex-husband as he admitted to all sorts of bad stuff, so Ann said if he comes after anyone in her family, she'll turn the tape over. Christoper found out that the "Rebecca" he knows is not the Rebecca that is Tommy's sister. The "Rebecca" we know is actually Cliff Barnes' daughter so she's refocused on bringing down the Ewings after Christopher ended it with her and threatened to take the babies. I guess he wants Elena to be their mom since they are now re-engaged. All the while, poor John Ross is waiting for her in the office space.  Elena's mom finally appears only to return the ring.  SAD. So, of course John Ross and JR now want revenge over Bobby and Christopher (we knew they could only be on one side for a short time) and want to take Ewing Energy.  Whew...that is a lot of drama. Season 2 returns in January. -Courtney

Falling Skies - Whoa!  Falling Skies is always the show that I can't watch all the way through.  I think I am too invested in each of the characters that it makes me fast forward to see if something bad happens to them and then rewind to actually watch it.  This season had a lot more plot as opposed to just fighting and surviving.  The 2nd Mass finally made it to Charleston only to realize that the city was absolutely demolished.  BUT the new city of Charleston is actually underground at what looks like to be a mall?  Of course the reputation of the 2nd Mass precedes them so they all receive a warm welcome, but you could notice there was something fishy going on there.  Dan is reunited with his daughter, Jeanne, Tom is reunited with his old professor who also happens to be the "President" of Charleston, and Tom and Dan are also reunited with Porter, the one that assigned them two together in the first episode of the series!  A lot has been going on with the rebellion of the overlords and the alliance with the skitters and they finally caught a break to kill one of the overlords!  Of course, they get ambushed, Dai is killed, they get captured, and Karen (pure evil) begins torturing them.  The overlord appears but the skitters come to the rescue of the humans and Tom ends up killing the overlord and destroying the weapon they are building!  Hal (Drew Roy) is left unconscious, but still breathing...except that he now has one of those little parasite creatures in his head that will most likely control him!  This is terrible news since Hal is my favorite character so they better remedy this situation asap at the start of next season.  The 2nd Mass return from the mission to applause and it seems like the people can start working on finding a balance to civilian and military rule, but then NEW ALIENS strike Earth!  What is going on?!?! Major questions left unanswered - Who are these new aliens? Are they friend or foe? They look more human than the overlords and skitters so perhaps they are friend?  Is there some connection between the new aliens with the weapon they destroyed?  Is Hal involved in a love triangle with Karen and Maggie? Guess we'll have to wait until 2013 to get our answers...because YES, Falling Skies did get renewed! - Cyn

Rizzoli and Isles - Nothing too excited...this is more of an episode-to-episode show where an overarching plot is almost non-existent.  Dennis (Eddie Cibrian), the man that Maura saved, is back and is actually a serial killer that encases the women he kills in statues.  He plans on making Maura his next victim...sick and weird.  Jane figures it out and races to save her.  In the end, everything works out, of course.  Lydia, the woman who slept with both Tommy (Colin Egglesfield) and Mr. Rizzoli, gave birth and left the baby on Maura's doorstep.  Can't say there's much of a cliffhanger or anything that has left you wanting more.  The show will be back in November...yippee? - Cyn

Suits - Daniel wins as the new managing partner of the firm and kicks Harvey out of his current office. Louis is feeling powerful and gives Harvey lots of work and tells Mike that he can't prioritize Harvey over the other partners. Mike is upset about his grandma's passing (naturally) and Tess from his past is there to comfort him, but it turns out she's married. Her morals can only last so long though. Harvey comes to find Mike since he was MIA and they both get high and decide to go pee in Daniel's office. Once at the office, Harvey sees Louis in his office so of course now Louis knows they had smoked pot. But, Harvey and Mike are apparently the smartest stoned guys ever and figure out that Daniel had plotted that document that poor Donna got the blame for. So, Harvey gets the truth from Travis Tanner that the document was a fraud. Mike and Rachel kiss again, but Rachel stops it. Next, Daniel calls for mandatory drug testing and Harvey declines. They have a meeting to terminate Harvey, but at the meeting, Harvey brings up the fraudulent document and Mike saunters in with a fake signed affidavit from the Coastal Motors guy, but it's enough and the board votes to terminate Daniel (Louis voted correctly this time). Tess decides that she doesn't care about her husband and I guess Mike doesn't either so they sleep together just as Rachel decides she wants to be with Mike again... -Courtney

Necessary Roughness - Let's see, Bald guy from Californication died (the owner, what's his name?)...It seemed like he was going to try and fake his death, but then he ended up really dying. Talk about a plan backfiring. THEN, Nico went over to see Dani who was on the front porch morning the loss of a fish (I can relate) and they kissed! I've been waiting on that forever! I didn't like Matt with Dani for some reason. But, I like the Dani + Nico storyline.  Honestly, I've been pretty bored with the past few episodes of Necessary Roughness, but this new relationship has me interested again. TK went to rehab, left rehab and then it showed Dani bringing him back again. He got his act together after his rehab friend (some musician) died in his apartment while they were temporarily out (whew, didn't want this storyline dragged out any longer). The Hawks got some new player to replace TK. Dani's son had a lot riding on TK in his fantasy league, so he's mad at his mom for not letting him know about rehab. OH, he dug up his friend's marijuana plants and of course got pulled over for the tail-light that the "friend" had broken.  I think that's about it...am I missing anything? I watched it last week, so it's a little fuzzy.  BUT, the previews show Matt asking about Dani + Nico...stay tuned! -Courtney

Bunheads - So, I'm a little embarrassed that I watch this show, but I just looked it up on Wikipedia and it seems like I'm not the only one! Supposedly, it was one of the higher rated new shows of 2012 - that's kind of scary for 2012 TV...It did get renewed for 8 more episodes of Season 1 so there will be 18 in total.  Here's a recap of the last episode before the mid-season break: Sasha came back to dance at the studio in The Nutcracker, but Fanny had brought in a replacement for her (The Ringer).  Hopefully someone will notice that Sasha is having a hard time at home and help her out. Michelle accidentally maced all the dancers so The Nutcracker was ruined and they all ended up at the hospital.  All the parents hate Michelle now. Sasha saw the basketball (now ex-basketball) player at the hospital so something will be coming of that - maybe he'll be what she needs to break out of her funk.  Fanny and the boyfriend (?) are on the outs since Michelle told him that Fanny wanted to come with him to Idaho.  The little blonde girl and the tall girl's brother were hanging out, but then we saw him with some other girl.  Guess he got sick of her acting dumb and not talking around him. But, all the girls made up thanks to Michelle. At the hospital Michelle had a dream about Hubbell and woke up and decided she needed to leave Paradise, but all the kids stood up for her and said "O Captain! My Captain!" (another Walt Whitman reference...see Breaking Bad below).  I'm assuming and I'm pretty certain that Michelle won't be leaving Paradise (at least not for long), but we'll have to wait until the show returns to find out for sure. I do hope Fanny and Michael work it out - that was kind of sad. -Courtney

Breaking Bad - I've had some trouble with Breaking Bad this season because I don't like Walt as the bad guy.  The producers/writers of this show have done an amazing job, in that you have cheered on Walt and his business through seasons 1-4.  For some reason or other, as a viewer, you still thought of him as a good guy and could somehow justify the way he made money.  However, that has all changed with season 5.  Walt has become an arrogant, killing, power seeker and I no longer find myself caring if he dies or gets caught.  But, of course that started to change as I watched the mid-season finale.  Forgetting that he was behind the killing of 9 prison guys (can you imagine dying from hundreds of tiny little knife pricks? - that's gotta be one of the worst ways to go), he paid Jesse and told Skyler that he had quit the business. Maybe Skyler finally got to him after showing him the huge pile of money (how would finding that locker be on Storage Wars?!).  Of course you question whether or not he REALLY quit the business, but let's pretend that he did. Hank finds the Walt Whitman Leaves of Grass book in the bathroom (why did Hank use the master bathroom?) that has a note that says something along the lines of:

"To my other favorite WW. It's been a pleasure getting to work with you." - GB

GB as in Gale Boetticher! Hank puts two and two together and it shows a flashback of when he was talking to Walt about WW (Woodrow Wilson...Walter White?!).  So, Hank is on to Walt as Walt is finally "done" (again, Walt isn't exactly trustworthy so not sure about that). Will Hank ask Walt about the book? Will Hank be able to talk his way out of it? Will Hank still have suspicions? He has to, right? The money, his chemistry background, his crazy behavior, him and Skyler's marital problems...TO BE CONTINUED! It was originally said that Season 5 would be the last, but then Bryan Cranston eluded to the possibility that there could be more so they are probably going to leave some open questions at the end of Season 5, which would mean that Walt couldn't get caught, right?  AHHH! Why do they do this to me?! -Courtney

Picking up where we left off

Not only are we excited about the new Fall shows, but we also have our existing shows to look forward to.  I'm sure this summer has been a long one with all the summer shows to watch, so in case we forgot, we decided to included a friendly reminder on where the shows left off!

Once Upon a Time - Last we left off we thought everything was peachy in Storybrooke, since Emma broke the curse, brought Henry back from the dead, and Snow was reunited with Charming.  Little did we know that a huge purple cloud would engulf the town after about 2 seconds of a happy reunion. Who's curse do we think this is?  What does the purple cloud mean?  Guess we'll need to wait and find out.

Revenge - Hands down the most anticipated return.  It might be because of my small obsession with Joshua Bowman (Daniel Grayson), but a huge turn off is that he dated Miley Cyrus...sorry digressing.  The show leaves us hanging to wonder if Victoria (and Lydia of course) survived the plane crash that was taking her to DC to incriminate Conrad, who the father of fake Amanda is, did Charlotte really overdose, what kind of man is Daniel turning into, and if Emily's mom is truly alive.  Rumor has it that the show is moving away from the Hamptons and taking up in NYC.

90210 - This just left us with a typical CW season finale cliffhanger.  While Dixon is trying his hardest to reach Adrianna before leaving for the tour, he naturally gets hit by a car and we are left wondering if he dies.  In other news, Silver is probably off having a baby with Teddy and Max and Naomi have a happy reunion.  Ehh...I'm wondering a little if Dixon survives, but I'm sure he will since he's a SERIES REGULAR!

Gossip Girl - Of course the show left off with Blair and Serena feuding....again!  And of course this drives Serena to make many mistakes, taking drugs, reverting to her old self, making poor decisions, etc.  What is finally right in the world is Blair forgetting about Dan (did anyone else find that weird?) and fighting for Chuck.  There's still drama with Dan and Georgina is involved...which can only end up terribly, Lily is of course making poor decisions as well, guess it runs in the family, and Nate is just Nate.  With this being GG's last season and a shortened one as well - only 10 episodes!, they need to resolve a lot in a short amount of time so expect a lot of drama!

Hart of Dixie - The unresolved love triangle.  Is anyone else sick of these?  Wade and Zoe finally give into their emotions in the barn, then George walks out of his wedding to confess his love to Zoe.  Who will she choose?  If she doesn't choose soon this show will be axed.  But I'm sure Courtney will continue to watch it...for some reason she's a sucker for Hart of Dixie.

Vampire Diaries - Major drama on this show...Elena becomes a vampire, Klaus thought to be dead is actually in Tyler's body since he is the head of the Salvatore (and thus Caroline, Abby, and Tyler's) bloodline, Alaric is gone for good (for real, he's starring in another CW show), and Damon vs Stephan in Elena's affections.  With vampires being the trend now and so much drama going on, I can't wait for this season!

Grey's Anatomy - Yes, I still watch Grey's Anatomy, hence my previous statements that I am a loyalist.  Seattle Grace reminds me of Sunnydale from Buffy, where all bad things happen in one place.  It's as if the hospital is sitting on top of the hell mouth or something.  If I was one of the doctors, I would be getting the heck out of there!  First there was a bomb, then a shooting, now a plane crash?!  We all know at the end of last season that Mark and Lexie are destined for each other, but unfortunately Lexie doesn't make it.  Then, in the offseason, we learn that Eric Dane will not be returning, but he isn't killed off.  I wonder how they plan his exit.  Teddy also leaves the show by taking a job somewhere else and we are all left wondering if the remaining doctors will survive?

Private Practice - With Private Practice being moved to a new night away from Grey's signals that this may be their last season.  And more proof...they are doing a limited run of only 13 episodes.  To be honest, I kind of forgot what happened at the end of last season so it couldn't have been that exiting.  It has been confirmed that Pete (Tim Daly) will not be returning as a series regular.  All I can hope for is that Addison finally picks Jake and lets Sam go...break the cycle!!!

Parenthood - I love this show and am so excited about it coming back.  It seems to always be questionable whether or not it's going to be renewed, which I don't understand.  But, enough of that.  Season 3 ended with Crosby and Jasmine getting married.  At the wedding, Adam & Crosby made up and decided to keep working together at the Luncheonette instead of selling.  Mark proposed to Sarah, but we don't know their response.  I really don't like them together, not sure why...am I the only one who feels this way? Joel and Julia found out that Zoe was going to keep the baby (ugh, saw that one coming), but at the end a young boy was brought to their house from the adoption agency, so we'll see where that goes.  Adam told Maddie that she could go to Cornell (have they not heard of loans?) and Amber and the politician are over, but Amber is going to continue working on his campaign. Is anyone else irritated that she's not going to college?

Glee - This show is usually one of the last that I watch on the Tivo.  It just doesn't seem to have the "spark" it once did. But, regardless, here's a recap of where we left off on Season 3: Rachel was the only one accepted so Kurt and Finn didn't have a reason to go to NYC. So, Rachel was going to defer her enrollment, but then Finn broke up with her, told her she was going to the military and it shows Rachel arriving in New York (thankfully - I wouldn't have been able to handle a wedding). Kurt is staying in Ohio along with Brittany who is repeating her senior year. Santana is most likely going to NYC instead of college despite her mother's (Gloria Estefan) wishes. Quinn is heading to Yale and Mike to Chicago.  Looks like Puck (who graduated after a kiss from Quinn) and Mercedes are going to LA. So, in Ohio we can expect Mr. Shue and Emma who are now engaged, Tina, Brittany, Kurt, Blaine, Sam & Artie.  Season 2 Glee Project winner (Blake Jenner) will be Ryder. And, don't forget about Sue! Hopefully we'll get more NeNe/Sue scenes - still love the "your child will come out a grown man in a suit and briefcase" quote.  I was disappointed with the guest stars and songs from season 3 - hopefully Kate Hudson will bring some much needed life back into this show for season 4.

The Office - We're only recapping this one, since the upcoming season is the last.  The show hasn't been the same since Steve left. I love the old characters, but the replacement characters for Michael Scott have been a big disappointment (Robert California and the British girl, Nellie).  Andy is back to being the manager and is together with Erin (yea!), Robert California is out and David Wallace is back in as CEO (yea!).  Hopefully we'll see Kelly even though Mindy is doing her new show (which I'll probably have to watch b/c I really like her) and Dwight (rumor has it he's getting a spin off show).  Looking forward to  more of Pam, Jim and Daryl and seeing how they wrap up the end of the show.

Fall Previews!

Fall is coming up and you know what that means! The return of some of our favorite shows and new shows!  There seem to be a lot of repeating themes this season: supernatural, "Hunger Games" wannabes, "Country Strong" wannabe, etc., but I know that choosing which new shows to watch can be a difficult decision.  I already watch a lot of TV, so I try to be choosy with what I add to the Season Pass on Tivo ("choosy" is very subjective..."Bunheads" is on there!).  There's nothing worse than getting into a new show that gets cancelled or doesn't get renewed.  That has happened way too often recently.  Mainly, "Off the Map" - I'm still mad at Cynthia for getting me started and hooked on that show (I really miss seeing that Australian doctor each week) . So, to try and avoid any future severed relationships, we're going to help decide which shows we think will make it and which appear to be worth the risk.

666 Park Avenue (ABC, Sunday 10PM)
This is a new ABC Show that will take the spot of "GCB"/"Brothers & Sisters".  FYI - "Revenge" is moving to Sunday's and will replace Desperate Housewives.  666 Park Avenue is being advertised a ton, so ABC must think it's good.  Here's a brief description from the ABC webpage: "What would you do to have everything you desire? Step inside 666 Park Avenue, New York’s most seductive address. We all have some burning needs, desires and ambitions. For the residents of The Drake, the premier apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, these will all be met – for a price – courtesy of the building’s mysterious owner, Gavin Doran (Terry O’Quinn). But be careful what you wish for, because the price you have to pay is your soul....Sexy, enticing and captivating, home to an epic struggle of good versus evil, The Drake maintains a dark hold over all of its tenants in this new, chilling drama, tempting them through their ambitions and desires."

PROS:
- David Annable from "Brothers & Sisters" (that's another one I really miss...love that show), Robert Buckley from "Lipstick Jungle", and even Vanessa Williams (I kind of liked her character at the end of "Desperate Houswives", but maybe that's just because she was fairly new).
- Set in NYC
- Open time slot since "Desperate Housewives" is over
- Cynthia says a pro is the supernatural theme...we disagree over this (see below under Cons)

CONS:
- I'm not a huge fan of the supernatural shows.  For instance, "True Blood" is getting a little much now that almost every character has a non-human quality.  But, this is a deal with the devil, which might be a little more believable (?!), so it might be okay as long as they don't shoot light out of their palms.  There is a psychic though, so we'll see.

Overall, I think I might check out the first 1 or 2 episodes and see how it goes.

Nashville (ABC, Wednesday 10PM)
Nashville looks to be a TV version of "Country Strong".  ABC describes it as Connie Britton playing Rayna, "...a country legend who's had a career any singer would envy, though lately her popularity is starting to wane. Fans still line up to get her autograph, but she's not packing the arenas like she used to. Rayna's record label thinks a concert tour, opening for up-and-comer Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), the young and sexy future of country music, is just what Rayna needs. But scheming Juliette can't wait to steal Rayna's spotlight. Sharing a stage with that disrespectful, untalented, little vixen is the last thing Rayna wants to do, which sets up a power struggle for popularity."

Yep- "Country Strong", but hopefully with a better ending.

PROS:

- Connie Britton ("Friday Night Lights") - I love her, so I think I'll check this one out.  I never watched "Hero's" so I'm not very familiar with Hayden Panettiere's work.
- "Country Strong" similarities (this could be a pro or a con)

CONS:

- Wannabe "Country Strong" (been there, done that)
- Not sure how long this one will last...the competition can only go on so long, right?

Revolution (NBC, Monday 10PM)
Just like how "666 Park Avenue" is riding the supernatural wave, Revolution is riding the post-apocalyptic wave with movies and shows like "The Hunger Games" and "Falling Skies". NBC gives this description: "A family struggles to reunite in an American landscape where every single piece of technology - computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights - has mysteriously blacked out forever. A drama with sweeping scope and intimate focus, "Revolution" is also about family - both the family you're born into and the family you choose."

Well, it sounds like it has potential, but I'm on the fence.  "Falling Skies" is extremely enjoyable because of various eye candies (i.e. Noah Wyle and Drew Roy) and I enjoyed "The Hunger Games" series, but post-apocalytpic storylines are just so depressing.  I mean it shows that almost anything could happen!  The previews of the girl with the bow and arrow is a little cheesy and it seems like they are trying hard to appeal to "The Hunger Games" masses, which I guess I can't blame them.  I don't really know any of the names of people who are in it, but in looking at the pictures, it has Gus from "Breaking Bad" and the doctor girl from Lost.

PROS:

- Fills the fall/spring void that "Falling Skies" has left us
- Gus from "Breaking Bad" (anything from Breaking Bad is a good thing to me)

CONS:

- Staying power... how long can something like this last? I said the same thing about "Lost" though, so what do I know?

Chicago Fire (NBC, Wednesday 10PM)
This show seems to be about the workings surrounding the Chicago Fire Department, but the appeal are the hotties on the show - Taylor Kinney ("The Vampire Diaries") and Jesse Spencer ("House").  It's on at the same time as "Nashville" on ABC so not sure if that will cause anyone any issues. According to NBC, "For the firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51, no occupation is more stressful or dangerous, yet so rewarding and exhilarating. These courageous men and women are among the elite who forge headfirst into danger when everyone else is running the other way and whose actions make the difference between life and death.  The pressure to perform on such a high level has a way of taking a personal toll, sometimes putting team members from the Truck and the specially trained Rescue Squad at odds with each other. Despite any differences, this is an extended family, and when it's "go time," everyone inside Firehouse 51 knows no other way than to lay it all on the line for each other."

Personally, this doesn't really appeal to me (not like it appeals to Cynthia) and I haven't seen any advertisements for it either, but maybe because I watch everything recorded and fast forward through the commercials.

PROS:

- According to Cynthia, the "hotties" (I never watched "The Vampire Diaries" or "House" so these guys don't mean much to me)
- The description is kind of interesting, but I have a feeling it will end up being less of the fire action and more of the drama (may be a good thing in case you're watching for the "hotties")

CONS:

- Eh, I'm just not really sold. Not sure why, but I'm not.

Arrow (CW, Wednesday 8PM)

With "Smallville" ending, CW was bound to pick up another comic book superhero series.  I may check this out for a couple of episodes and see where it heads.  From CW, "After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was...As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow - a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be - flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle - while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness."
So, what's the Arrow character?  I guess we have to tune in to find out. At first I thought this one was dumb, but now it might have potential and fill a hole now that Ringer was cancelled.

PROS:

- Relatively newcomer, Stephen Amell, is quite the looker.  In case you didn't get enough of him on "Private Practice" as Violet's hot EMT boyfriend, this will most definitely satisfy those needs.
- Not much on during that time slot, which may get more people sucked in.

CONS:

 - Perhaps too much action to make a believable?  But honestly, who cares if Stephen Amell is in it?!

Beauty and the Beast  (CW, Thursday 9PM)
There haven't been very many promos on this yet, but with the attention "Once Upon a Time" got last season, I think many will be tuning in for Beauty and the Beast.  This is another new one on the CW and they describe it as "Catherine “Cat” Chandler (Kristin Kreuk, "Smallville,” “Chuck”) is a smart, no-nonsense homicide detective, who is haunted by her own tragic past. When she was a teenager, Cat witnessed the murder of her mother at the hands of two gunmen. Cat would have been killed too, but someone – or something – saved her. No one has ever believed her, but she knows it wasn’t an animal that attacked the assassins…though it was strange and terrifying, it was human."

Personally, I don't think I'll be watching this one.  Only Disney can pull off something worth watching with this title.

PROS:

- Seems to play up the typical damsel-in-distress storyline with a bit of forbidden love - I mean obviously Cat is going to fall in love with the human who rescued her, so if you're into that then this should work!

CONS:
- This is possible the worst timeslot for a new CW show.  With "Glee" moving to Thursay nights as well as the usual "Grey's Anatomy", people are going to have to be making some decisions.  Staying loyalists? or trying something new?  Clearly, if I am still watching "Grey's Anatomy", I am a loyalist for sure.

Last Resort  (ABC, Thursday 8PM)
Last Resort is about a renegade crew of the US Navy trying to prove their innocence for not obeying an order.  Scott Speedman is in it, so that has definitely piqued my interest, since I have been wanting to see him on the screen again since "Underworld" (& "Felicity"!).  From ABC, "500 feet beneath the ocean's surface, the U.S. ballistic missile submarine Colorado receives their orders. Over a radio channel, designed only to be used if their homeland has been wiped out, they're told to fire nuclear weapons at Pakistan. Captain Marcus Chaplin (Andre Braugher) demands confirmation of the orders only to be unceremoniously relieved of duty by the White House. XO Sam Kendal (Scott Speedman) finds himself suddenly in charge of the submarine and facing the same difficult decision. When he also refuses to fire without confirmation of the orders, the Colorado is targeted, fired upon, and hit. The submarine and its crew find themselves crippled on the ocean floor, declared rogue enemies of their own country. Now, with nowhere left to turn, Chaplin and Kendal take the sub on the run and bring the men and women of the Colorado to an exotic island. Here they will find refuge, romance and a chance at a new life, even as they try to clear their names and get home."

PROS:
- Scott Speedman...enough said.
- Scott Speedman...again.

CONS:

- Who knows how fine ABC will walk the line on action and drama - I just hope we see enough of Scott Speedman.

Emily Owens, M.D.  (CW, Tuesday 9PM)
This show seems like another "Hart of Dixie", but in Denver...which means that I'll probably watch it.  I don't know what it is about me and bad, cheesy, teeny-bopper shows, but for some reason, I can't stay away.  This one has Meryl Streep's daughter who was also in "Off the Map".  According to the CW, "She can finally put her high school days as the geeky-girl-with-flop-sweats behind her. She’s graduated from medical school, and she’s beginning an internship at Denver Memorial Hospital, where, not-so-coincidentally, her med-school crush Will Collins (Justin Hartley, “Smallville,” “Passions”) is also an intern."

PROS:
- Another doctor show? I mean, if you're into that?

CONS:

- Look at how "Hart of Dixie" turned out.  I mean it's amazing that it got renewed, and yes it is still on the season pass because once again, I am a loyalist.

Get excited for the new Fall season!  We recommend first dibs on the season pass for:
1) 666 Park Avenue
2) Arrow OR Last Resort
3) Nashville
4) Chicago Fire
5) Revolution
6) Beauty and the Beast
7) Emily Owens, M.D.
